The Role.
GMC are currently looking for an experienced Traffic Management Designer to join our Traffic Management department.
The successful candidate will support the design, planning, and delivery of traffic management and traffic engineering solutions across a range of infrastructure and utility projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare traffic management layouts, temporary traffic management plans, and permanent traffic design drawings.
Develop designs in accordance with Irish standards, including the Traffic Signs Manual (TSM).
Produce detailed CAD drawings, sketches, and construction-ready documentation.
Assist with traffic impact assessments and design reviews.
Liaise with project managers, site teams, local authorities, and clients.
Ensure designs are compliant with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Provide technical input during project planning and construction phases.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
Minimum 2+ years' experience in a Traffic Design or Traffic Engineering role.
Proven experience using CAD software (AutoCAD essential; Civil 3D advantageous).
Working knowledge of Irish traffic and road design standards.
Experience with temporary traffic management on live construction sites.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Full driving licence.
