About Your New Job as a Civil Engineer:
As a Civil Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Some of the key duties of the role are below:
* Design and oversee civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and infrastructure developments.
* Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
* Setting Out Work
* Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and environmental standards.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
* Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
* Review and approve construction methods and materials.
What Skills You Need:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 18 months experience in civil engineering, preferably in a consultancy or contracting environment.
* Proficient in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar).
* Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and project management.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional engineering body (e.g., Engineers Ireland) is an advantage.
