Position description
Job title: Design Engineer (Flooding/River Modelling) M/F
Contract type: Permanent contract
Business Line specific context: J.B.Barry and Partners currently require a Drainage engineer who has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will be a vital part of the team and will be helping contribute to the continued growth of J.B.Barry and Partners. You will be taking a lead role on projects and will be reporting to Associates, Associate Directors and Directors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Drainage Engineer. J.B.Barry and Partners is one of the country's leading Civil Engineering Consultants, and has recently been acquired by the Egis Group. The J.B.Barry/Egis Group currently has over 16 employees and is involved in some of the largest engineering projects in the world.
Responsibilities:
1. Capable of working under own initiative.
2. Capable of working within the J.B.Barry/Egis Quality System.
3. Capable of working with other design engineers and able to delegate work elements to technicians when necessary.
Profile:
1. 2-5 years post-graduate experience with at least 2 in the flood risk/river modelling discipline.
2. Honours degree qualified in Civil Engineering Field (QII Level 8 Minimum).
3. Experience in preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
4. Experience in Hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS (1D/2D Models, RAS Mapper), and ideally Flood Modeller.
5. Use of GIS Software and Data Management.
6. Experience in preparing Section 50 Applications.
7. Experience in Hydrological Flow Estimation Techniques.
8. Experience in using Civil 3D to assist with analysis, design and reporting.
