Commercial Manager - Sligo
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare annual plan each year including profit and loss forecast and seek approval from the management committee
* Agree annual, quarterly and monthly targets with the Management Committee
* Manage existing sponsors to ensure continued support of the club and ensure that additional sponsorship income is obtained each year overall from existing sponsors
* Ownership of research and business development activities to source additional sponsorship
* Development of sponsorship tiering model to ensure that sponsorship opportunities are maximised
* Win new business and sponsorship contracts with a focus on consistently growing commercial income each year
* Prepare and execute a sponsor engagement plan with minimum quarterly meetings with key sponsors to ensure that sponsors are satisfied with their interaction with the club and their return from partnership agreements
* Ownership of supplier relationships including service delivery and pricing
* Co-ordination of tasks between sponsors, suppliers, operations team and social media team in respect of commercial activities e.g. signage, LED screens, car sponsorships for players, accommodation suppliers, etc.
* Ownership of invoicing of sponsorship amounts and commercial income amounts on a daily basis and follow-up with sponsors and partners in respect of cash collection as necessary
* Tracking of income and costs and providing explanations for variances versus Budget and production of weekly and monthly reports
* Maintenance of contact database in respect of sponsors, partners and suppliers
* Ownership of assigned match-day preparatory tasks and match-day tasks with responsibility shared with other members of the office team
* Ownership of other assigned operational tasks as directed by the management committee
* People management tasks as assigned by the management committee including setting of KPIs, review meetings and performance management
* Provide administrative support to the club and the management committee
* Conduct ad hoc analysis to identify areas for profit improvement and negotiate with sponsors and suppliers as appropriate
* Work as part of a team and perform ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors honours degree in business or related field is preferred but not essential
Extensive track record in business development
Previous sales role experience
Extensive experience in building relationships with businesses and companies
Demonstrable experience in networking and winning new business
Motivated to exceed sales targets
Disciplined in terms of administrative tasks and time management
Ability to work cross functionally within organisation and with volunteers
Strong work ethic
