It operates as a specialist, multi-disciplinary organisation with a strong public interest mandate and a focus on high standards of governance and compliance.The organisation brings together professionals from legal, accounting, regulatory and enforcement backgrounds and plays a key role in maintaining confidence in the wider business and regulatory framework.About Your New Job:This is a temporary 5-month assignment at Senior Enforcement Manager (Assistant Principal) level, reporting to a senior director within a civil enforcement function.The role offers a varied and challenging portfolio, with initial responsibility for leading and managing a specialist Assessment Unit that reviews and triages incoming complaints, referrals and statutory reports, and determines appropriate regulatory or enforcement pathways.This is a senior operational role with significant exposure to complex and high-impact matters.What You Will DoSupport senior leadership in the management of a civil enforcement functionLead and oversee the day-to-day operations of a specialist assessment teamReview and assess complaints, referrals and statutory reports to determine seriousness, risk and next stepsPromote compliance through proportionate civil and regulatory measuresIdentify matters requiring escalation or referral to specialist enforcement or legal teamsPrepare clear, concise briefing notes and reports to support senior decision-makingDevelop, review and improve internal procedures and methodologiesLead, mentor and manage staff, including performance and developmentManage case workflows and oversee data analysis to identify trends and risksLiaise with internal and external stakeholders as requiredContribute to wider public interest and advocacy objectivesWho You AreA relevant third-level qualification (e.g. law, accounting, business or similar)Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a relevant legal, regulatory, compliance or enforcement environmentAt least 3 years' experience in a leadership or people management roleStrong knowledge of company law and regulatory processesExcellent professional judgement and decision-making capabilityProven ability to analyse complex information and identify key risksConfident communicator, comfortable operating at senior levelStrong leadership and organisational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong alignment with public service values and the public interestWhat's On OfferTemporary assignment – 5 months with possibility of extensionSenior-level role within a national regulatory environmentExposure to complex and high-profile regulatory workSalary 70-80k (Pro-rata)35-hour working weekGenerous annual leave entitlement (pro-rated)Office-based role (details provided at interview stage)What's NextApply now by clicking the "Apply Now" button or call me Jack McBrinn on If this job isn't quite right but you are looking for something similar, please get in touchWhy Apply Through Sigmar?We'll help manage your job hunt, strengthen your interview skills and tidy up your CVWe'll provide you with an overview of the jobs market within your industry and help you tailor your jobs searchGain access to exclusive roles that are not advertised elsewhere
