Our client,
a growing civil contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Senior Management Team in Dublin. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a leadership position within a dynamic and progressive company. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure efficient project delivery, optimize financial outcomes, and manage risks. All projects are based in and around Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy
1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's commercial strategy.
Subcontractor Management
2. Assist the SQS and MQS with:Preparing and issuing tenders.Evaluating subcontractor bids, negotiating contracts, and finalizing agreements.Managing financial and commercial aspects of subcontractor relationships, ensuring completion through Final Accounts.
Site Records & Documentation
3. Maintain accurate site records and ensure proper document control for all project activities.
Measurement Records
4. Keep detailed and accurate measurement records for project sites.
Forecasting & Valuations
5. Assist in preparing project forecasts, setting financial targets, conducting CVRs, and completing valuations.
Variation Management
6. Prepare, document, and agree on variations throughout the project lifecycle.
Final Accounts
7. Update and submit projected Final Accounts within required deadlines.
Commercial Liaison
8. Collaborate with site management teams on commercial and contractual matters.
Risk & Opportunity Assessment
9. Regularly review and identify risks and opportunities associated with projects.
Financial Management
10. Contribute to effective cash flow management to maintain project liquidity.
Team Management
11. Oversee and mentor AQS and TQS staff, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work.
Contract Management
12. Manage Design & Build (D&B), CDM contracts, and traditional contract types.
Client Interaction
13. Communicate professionally with clients on commercial issues to maintain strong relationships.
Experience & Skills
14. Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills.
15. Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with technology platforms for project management and reporting.
16. Measurement Knowledge : Proficiency in the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM).
17. Commercial Awareness : Strong commercial acumen and the ability to take ownership of projects.
18. Time Management : Excellent organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
19. Experience : A minimum of 6 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a preference for experience in Civils or Construction.
Qualifications/Training:
20. Degree/Diploma in a relevant profession.
