Manager - Cyber Defence
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Salary Range: €80,000-€110,000,
Employment Type: Full-time
We're seeking a senior leader to oversee the tactical arm of our global cyber defence capability. This role directs multiple operational groups focused on detecting, analysing, and responding to threats that could impact critical systems, services, and data.
Role Overview
You will provide daily leadership and coordination across key defensive areas such as:
1. External and internal threat response
2. Attack surface reduction and vulnerability oversight
3. Threat intelligence development and consumption
4. Readiness and alignment across security and partner teams
5. Detection engineering, monitoring operations, and automation initiatives
Key Responsibilities
6. Direct teams responsible for real-time threat detection, log analytics, telemetry engineering, and response workflows
7. Oversee development and tuning of SIEM/SOAR pipelines, detection logic, automation, and security telemetry ingestion
8. Manage attack-surface reduction efforts, vulnerability intake, prioritisation, and cross-team remediation coordination
9. Integrate cyber threat intelligence into detections, hunting workflows, and operational decision-making
10. Lead operational readiness, runbooks, instrumentation improvements, and incident command escalation paths
11. Guide analyst performance, workload allocation, and technical upskilling
Requirements
12. 5+ years in security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, or detection engineering
13. Strong understanding of detection methodologies (behavioural analytics, signatures, anomaly detection, threat modelling)
14. Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, log pipelines, and security automation
15. Knowledge of adversary tradecraft, MITRE ATT&CK, intrusion lifecycles, and common exploitation techniques
16. Experience improving defensive tooling, telemetry quality, and response processes
17. Ability to translate low-level technical signals into actionable operational decisions
