Job Title: Industrial Automation Systems Specialist
Job Description:
A leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a skilled professional to support the integration and optimization of bespoke CNC machines used in their manufacturing facility. This project will involve collaborating with the automation partner during equipment installation and testing phases, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical fault finding skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis on complex systems. They will work across multiple streams, each with 2-3 engineers, including quality, maintenance, and automation specialists, to contribute to the continuous improvement of automation systems to meet production and quality goals.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for the integration and optimization of bespoke CNC machines used in the manufacturing facility.
* Perform fault finding and root cause analysis on newly automated systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
* Collaborate with the automation partner during equipment installation and testing phases.
* Understand the current manual processes and how they can be effectively automated to enhance operational efficiency.
* Support the automation of manufacturing processes, including designing and optimizing automated workflows.
* Work across five different streams, each with 2-3 engineers, including quality, maintenance, and automation specialists.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation systems to meet production and quality goals.
* Assist with the commissioning and validation of automated systems and equipment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
To succeed in this role, candidates should have a Level 8 Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years' experience in automation engineering and working with automated control systems is also essential. Familiarity with systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC, and industrial automation tools (PLC, SCADA, HMI) is required. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are also necessary, with the ability to influence and resolve technical challenges.
