Supplies Officer (Grade B) - Procurement DepartmentPermanent Contract, Full Time Hours.The Supplies Officer (Grade B) will carry out duties under the direction of the Head of Procurement or nominated person.Responsibilities include:Assist with the delivery of the full Procurement Cycle for goods and services, including market consultation ensuring that the business arrives at the Purchase to Pay (P2P) stage.Apply a deep understanding of Public Procurement Processes and Regulations and have the ability to apply processes to specific procurement requirements.Assist with cross functional teams to pursue compliancy for products or services.Ensure all statutory regulations are complied with in respect of the procurement function.Participate in Logistics and Inventory Management activities, specifically including Inventory Management, Purchase Order Generation, Invoice and Payment Management, Supplier Management, Stock Management at Point-Of-Use (POU).Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure product availability.Engage with stakeholders to lead commercially focused procurement processes which efficiently and effectively meet requirements.Operate, control and manage Kanban systems, consignment systems, eFinancials Material Management System.Implement and manage new Kanban locations.Manage stock and non-stocked products throughout the organization and all processes and systems relating to requisitioning, provisioning, picking, issuing, receipting, and delivering.Governance:Contribute to the communication and implementation of policies, procedures, guidelines, standards and best practices.Governance:Ensure that all statutory and corporate governance requirements are met, e.g. EU Directives, MUH Procurement Policy, Public Procurement Guidelines for Goods and Services, etc.Governance: Identify risk of non-compliance and aggregation of spend that could provide opportunities for savings and efficiencies.Governance: Audit/Risk Register oversight and management.Governance: Manage challenging expenditure portfolios.Future Growth: Implementation of revised e-Tender process.Future Growth: Implementation of the IFMS planned approach, when applicable.Health & Safety: Comply with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, guidelines and safe professional practices.Health & Safety: Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards.To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.Eligibility Criteria:3+ years' experience working in a Procurement Environment which has included Supply Chain Management and/or Contracting and Tender Management processes.Experience in the use of ICT Procurement Systems.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Experience in dealing with large volumes of complex data in a large organization.Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the Procurement Department.Apply a Project Management approach that delivers results in a logistics/procurement setting.Nurture positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Data/Expenditure Analysis including report generation and the production of Metrics and/or Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).Evaluation group management, team supervision and/or people management.Closing date for applications is 1pm on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.MUH reserve the right to create a panel for this post from which permanent, fixed term and specified purpose vacancies of a full or part time duration may be filled.Mercy University Hospital (MUH)MUH is a growing voluntary hospital in the heart of Cork City.
