If you're passionate about sustainability and engineering excellence, we'd love to hear from you.Purpose & Scope of the RoleThe NEC Project Manager for Strategic Water Projects will serve as the NEC4 Project Manager on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dublin, playing a pivotal role in introducing and administering NEC contracts within the Irish Water Sector. The position involves managing contract administration by issuing instructions, notifications, and overseeing communications under the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract. It requires fostering collaboration and mutual trust among stakeholders, utilizing NEC early warning systems to identify and mitigate risks, and making impartial decisions on contractor submissions, compensation events, and overall project progress. The scope of the role includes managing contract values ranging from €10 million to €200 million, delivering complex works such as tunnelling, pipeline installation, and reinstatement in dense urban areas, coordinating multi-phased programmes across multiple city sites, leading teams of 5–10 professionals, and engaging with key stakeholders including local authorities, utilities, statutory bodies, and community representatives.Your Impact in this PositionIn this position, you will play a vital role in delivering critical underground infrastructure that enhances service resilience and minimizes disruption across Dublin. If you feel you meet 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you.NEC Contract & Commercial ManagementFull practical knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 clauses and procedures; administer early warnings, programme submissions, compensation events and change control.Maintain accurate contractual records, prepare notifications, and lead commercial discussions and negotiations.Forecast cost exposure, manage budgets and reconcile subcontractor claims.Tunnelling & Pipeline Technical DeliveryHands‑on understanding of micro-tunnelling, pipe jacking, TBM, trenchless techniques, and conventional open-cut pipeline installation.Manage geotechnical, groundwater and temporary works risks; coordinate ground investigation inputs and mitigation measures.Drive quality assurance and commissioning for pipelines and connections.Leadership, Safety & Programme ControlLead multidisciplinary teams in high‑pressure urban sites; ensure competent supervision and clear responsibilities.Ownership of H&S performance; champion Safe Systems of Work, permit-to-work systems, and emergency planning.Maintain and control programme (MS Project/Primavera), identify float, drive recovery strategies and report progress to senior stakeholders.Qualifications and TrainingDegree (BEng/BSc) in Civil/Geotechnical/Construction Engineering or equivalent experience.NEC3/NEC4 Project Manager or NEC training certificate.Safety training: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent; Safe Pass.Project management training (APM/PRINCE2/PMI desirable).Valid driver's licence.Beneficial:Chartered Engineer (CEng) or professional membership.Specialist tunnelling/trenchless training and experience.Familiarity with Irish utilities and local authority standards.BIM/digital delivery experience; Primavera P6 and MS Project proficiency.Submit your application today and discover what's possible at Tetra Tech RPS Consulting.In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements.
