Overview Of The Role
We have opportunities for electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers to join our Water Utilities Division at Mott MacDonald. We work on a vast range of design projects covering for example:
Water treatment
Water distribution
Wastewater recycling
Industrial process water
Desalination
Irrigation
Hydropower
Flood defence
Providing leadership and mentoring to other electrical engineers, you will be responsible for checking and reviewing design documents and providing technical direction to projects. Using your experience and expertise you will ensure that designs are fit for purpose and meet legislation and standards. You will lead the integration of the electrical & ICA design with that of other disciplines.
You Will Be Knowledgeable Of EICA Tasks, Typically Including
Electrical power distribution design
Control system design
Specifying local renewable and back-up generation systems
Developing plant layouts
Cabling and installation design
Instrumentation selection
Lightning protection assessments
Writing system control strategies
Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment
Candidate Specification
Essential
Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
Ten years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety and environmental issues
Desirable
Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
