We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour costs vs estimates. This includes taking off from drawings to create Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for projects. Additionally, they will handle all quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour costs vs estimates.
* Take off from drawings to create BOQs for projects.
* Handle all quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
* Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction managers/supervisors to discuss cost.
* Monitor costs from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues in conjunction with manager, deal with cost overseas and recovery.
* Create cost reports on actual costs and examine estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organising and scheduling work.
* Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project manager.
* Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
* Create cash flow forecasts for projects.
* Set up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
* Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data to be effective on cost reduction.
Requirements
* Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
* 5+ years Mechanical QS experience.
* Ability to agree final accounts, negotiations with sub-contractors.
* Previous experience on pharma and industrial projects.
