We are currently seeking an experienced Public Area Attendant to join the team in The Dean Docklands. The ideal candidate will have a passion for details, with previous experience in accommodation, cleaning or hospitality roles.

Job Purpose
The Public Area Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation in all guest‑facing and back‑of‑house public areas. This role ensures that lobbies, restrooms, corridors, event spaces, and other shared areas are consistently clean, welcoming, and aligned with the hotel's premium standards. By providing excellent service and attention to detail, the Public Area Attendant supports overall guest satisfaction and contributes to a safe, hygienic, and well‑maintained environment.
Role Responsibilities
Public Area Cleaning & Presentation
Clean and maintain all public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators, and event spaces.
Ensure all areas are presentable, well‑stocked, and in line with hotel brand standards.
Conduct regular checks throughout the day to maintain cleanliness in high‑traffic zones.
Guest Interaction & Support
Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner when working in public spaces.
Respond politely to guest requests, assisting where possible or directing to the appropriate department.
Ensure that all guest‑facing areas create a welcoming and comfortable experience.
Health & Safety Compliance
Follow hotel health, hygiene, and safety procedures, including safe handling of cleaning products and equipment.
Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
Ensure all public spaces comply with fire safety and emergency access requirements.
Inventory & Supplies Management
Monitor stock of cleaning materials, restroom supplies, and guest amenities for public areas.
Replenish supplies as required and notify supervisors of low stock levels.
Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and fit for use.
Work closely with the accommodation team and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist colleagues when required, particularly during peak times or special events.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to maintain high standards of service.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in accommodation, cleaning, or hospitality roles preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
Friendly and approachable, with good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures, or willingness to be trained.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
