We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Worker to join one of our residential services. As a Social Care Worker, you will be involved in supporting the individuals we support to achieve their personal outcomes, to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their home and in the community. Working hours will be variable including day shifts, evening shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the Person In Charge with all aspects of the effective running of the residential service
* Facilitate and implement a person-centred approach appropriate to individuals’ wishes and goals
* Promote and protect the rights of the individuals in a manner that respects dignity, choice and privacy
* Seek new interests and opportunities for individuals to develop meaningful roles in their communities
* Ensure the overall wellbeing of individuals in all areas including health and personal care
* Assist in teaching life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning and building confidence
* Drive the company vehicle
* Have knowledge of the HIQA regulations and standards
* Experience dealing with behaviours that challenge
* Experience, knowledge and understanding of behavioural support plans
* MAPA experience or equivalent
* Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions
* Experience of alternative communications
* Excellent organisation and communication skills
* Creative problem‑solving techniques
* Enthusiasm, energy and creativity
* Discretion and responsibility with confidential information
* Excellent IT and report writing skills
* Flexibility to work a variety of rostered shifts over a seven‑day work period
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold a degree in Social Care or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI)
* Have at least six months post‑qualification experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
* Must hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to drive company vehicle
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Flexibility in work duties and working hours

* Strong planning and organisational skills
