GEDON Executive is seeking an experienced and commercially astute
Senior Quantity Surveyor
to join a leading firm in
Dublin, Ireland
.
This is a high-impact role requiring a proven professional to take the lead commercial role on significant construction projects, ensuring their financial success and contractual integrity.
With a competitive salary of up to
€80,000
, this position is ideal for an SQS ready to take on substantial responsibility and mentor junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management & Reporting:
Oversee and manage all commercial processes for high-value projects.
This includes leading the preparation of detailed cost forecasts, budgets, and accurate
Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
for review by the Commercial Manager.
Contract Administration:
Expertly administer construction contracts, typically the
RIAI
or
GCCC
forms common in the Irish market.
Ensure strict compliance with all contractual correspondence, notifications, and obligations.
Subcontractor Management:
Lead the procurement, negotiation, and detailed final account settlement of all major subcontracts, ensuring technical and commercial alignment with project specifications and securing best value.
Change Control & Claims:
Proactively identify, measure, value, and negotiate
variations and claims
with the client/PQS, ensuring full commercial entitlement is secured and providing necessary contractual justification.
Risk & Opportunity:
Implement robust risk management procedures, identifying and mitigating commercial risks while actively exploiting opportunities to maximise project profit margins.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Intermediate and Graduate Quantity Surveyors within the project commercial team.
What You'll Bring
Proven Experience:
Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a minimum of
5-7 years' experience
working within a
Main Contractor, Developer, or Specialist Contractor
environment in Ireland or the UK.
Acumen & Leadership:
Exceptional financial management and analytical skills, with a proven track record of controlling costs and driving profitability.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are essential.
Contractual Knowledge:
Expert working knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts used in Ireland, particularly the
RIAI
or
GCCC
suites.
Qualifications:
A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
Progress towards, or achievement of, SCSI or MRICS chartership
is highly desirable.
