Part-time Clerical Officer - Pre-Assessment Clinic - UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin
Location: UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Santry, Dublin 9
Job type: Part-time Contract of Employment (15 hours per week)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure patient data is filed in the appropriate patient's chart.
Liaise with GP offices to request medical information.
Process incoming faxes and file outside of the patient's chart for medical doctor sign-off, then file in patient's correspondence.
File lab reports, microbiology reports and ECG results in patients' charts.
Verify patient details on medical questionnaires and corresponding fax communications before filing.
File all bloods on a daily basis.
Assist medical team with outgoing faxes and scanning requests; provide data required from GP/consultants' offices.
Ensure charts required for surgery are completed in a timely, accurate and comprehensive manner for review.
Answer telephone queries in PAC and handle any queries that arise.
Update patient files; maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of medical records.
Typing, photocopying, scanning, filing, tidying and maintenance of medical records as required.
Check stock levels of stationery and reorder as needed daily.
When PAC charts are completed, place them in the appropriate filing cabinet.
Collect pre-assessment mail from admissions; check voicemails daily and log/communicate messages to clinical staff.
Maintain a flexible attitude and understand confidentiality/data protection requirements.
You may be required, from time to time, to work in other departments within the clinic, at the discretion of the Director of Nursing.
Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the clinic and promote healthy working relationships.
Liaise with wound clinic, cardiology, and phlebotomy departments to schedule related appointments.
Qualifications & Experience
At least 2 years of clerical experience.
Previous experience in an acute/clinical setting.
Computer literate; accurate data entry and keyboard skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and without supervision as necessary.
Good organisational and time management skills; effective written and verbal communication; ability to prioritise and stay organised under pressure.
