Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join our team in Shannon, Ireland. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract that will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience across various finance functions.
Key Responsibilities

Gain practical experience in accounts payable, payroll support, reconciliations, fixed asset management, and cycle counting.

1. Accounts Payable Matching:
">
">
* Match invoices to purchase orders receipted into the system by stores.
">
* Process manual invoices not receipted into the system.
">
">
2. Reconciliations:
">
">
* Creditors ledger every month-end, including outstanding receipt listing and Edit Accrual List.
">
* Post journals to the General Ledger.
">
">
3. General Queries and Liaising:
">
">
* Respond to general queries and liaise with Purchasing to resolve price and quantity queries on invoices.
">
">
4. Backup for Payments and Duty Travel:
">
">
* Provide backup for processing monthly payments in a timely manner.
">
* Review and pay all Duty Travel expenses.
">
">
5. Payroll and Petty Cash:
">
">
* Prepare weekly payroll in a timely and efficient manner for approximately 200 employees.
">
* Address payroll queries from employees as they arise.
">
* Validate employee duty and non-duty travel expenses against receipts before processing to the bank twice weekly.
">
* Update revenue returns re employee expense according to new reporting requirements.
">
">
6. Fixed Asset Register:
">

* Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, identifying opportunities for improvement.
">

Requirements:
">
The ideal candidate will possess an accounting technician qualification or equivalent. Previous experience in using payroll systems (e.g., Megapay, Sage) is desirable. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is essential.
