Role Title:
Project Manager
Role Description & Responsibilities:
You will report directly to a Contracts Manager and be responsible for overseeing a full project team and associated subcontractors in the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the project budgetary, programme, and quality requirements.
General
Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of subcontractors.
Health and Safety
Ensure that the works are delivered in the safest manner possible, with the support of the Site Manager, EHS Advisor, and Contracts Manager, in accordance with all legislative requirements.
Ensure contractors on site execute works as per their approved method statement & risk assessment.
Give daily site briefings to the workforce prior to starting work to ensure interface risks between subcontractors are safely managed.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
Report all safety incidents and/or accidents to the Safety Advisor & Company Directors in strict accordance with company protocols.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities as required.
Help the company achieve our goal of Zero Harm on all worksites for workers and third parties.
Technical/Quality
Supervise site engineering resources in the timely execution of setting out and surveying activities for various building trades.
Ensure project delivery is snag-free to the satisfaction of the client.
Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and problems arising from revised details or site situations.
Ensure all materials and work performed meet specifications and drawing requirements.
Manage the RFI process and keep the register updated.
Manage the submittals process and keep the register updated.
Management
Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day client and designer liaison.
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the workforce to ensure successful project completion.
Manage requisition processes for materials and plant.
Familiar with contract documents provided by the client/architect.
Monitor progress against the contract program and escalate delays or risks to the Contracts Manager.
Assist in producing and revising contract and sub-programmes.
Ensure weekly submission of plant, labour, and materials records to Head Office.
Maintain company-owned plant and equipment in good order.
Act professionally and courteously at all times, protecting the company's interests.
Minimum Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent technical degree.
* Minimum of 7 years experience in Construction Management, including project management.
* Experience with public works / RIAI contracts.
* Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to understand and create contractual requirements and reports.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
* Understanding of BIM and digital construction technologies.
* Proficient IT skills and innovative mindset.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to build relationships with clients, staff, and subcontractors.
* Teamwork and influencing skills.
