About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Design Manager on a major data centre project in Dublin. The role involves leading the design engineering team, coordinating design submissions, and providing succinct solutions to meet the client’s needs.

An ambitious and outgoing design manager with a proven track record in the construction industry on major projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate with the client’s design team for the project build and site-wide design and services.
2. Coordinate Winthrop's design teams and external consultants to ensure design development stays on schedule for construction.
3. Plan and lead design & engineering workshops with internal and external discipline engineers to resolve issues and keep ahead of site activities.
4. Manage the Technical Submittal (TS) process, ensuring specifications are adhered to and submissions are timely for review and comments.
5. Oversee the design query process, raising issues in weekly workshops, issuing RFIs, and managing changes through change management procedures.
6. Manage IFC releases and updates, ensuring coordination with the design team and engineers, and keeping designs current.
7. Lead weekly design/engineering meetings to review progress, address urgent issues, and escalate as needed.
8. Maintain a design risk register to inform senior management and the client of potential risks to the schedule.
9. Manage the design and submittal process for the FFE package in admin buildings, ensuring on-time delivery.
10. Report progress in weekly client meetings, highlighting concerns or risks.
11. Coordinate construction drawings and models, ensuring timely approval for construction.
12. Manage as-built drawings and models, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with project requirements.
13. Ensure all required documentation, O&M manuals, and uploads are completed by contractors.
14. Coordinate LEED requirements, liaising with the client’s team and external consultants, and generating progress reports.
15. Ensure project quality plans are submitted, QA procedures implemented, and liaise on temporary works and traffic management designs.
16. Organize weekly meetings with OFCI vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications, including managing technical submissions and discrepancies.
Minimum Requirements
* 7+ years’ experience in delivering large-scale projects such as office fitouts, retail, hotels, schools, data centres, etc.
* Experience in data centres is advantageous.
* Degree in a relevant construction discipline preferred.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
