Job Summary
This post involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults ages 0-18 years and their families. The role includes children with intellectual, physical, sensory disabilities, autism, and children at risk or with developmental delays. The post is located in Listowel, North Kerry, with outreach to Castleisland and Farranfore.
Candidate Requirements
Statutory registration on the Occupational Therapists Register (CORU) – candidates must be registered or eligible and provide proof before employment.
Three years full‑time (or equivalent aggregate) post‑qualification clinical experience.
Minimum of two years full‑time (or equivalent aggregate) experience working with children and young adults 0‑18 years, ideally including intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health and autism.
Demonstrated knowledge and professional ability to discharge the duties of the office.
Annual registration maintained on the Occupational Therapists Register and confirmation of registration with a Safety Assurance Certificate.
Full health and capability to perform duties, with a reasonable prospect of regular efficient service delivery.
Good character, proven through references and conduct.
Experience working with families and in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience carrying out assessments with children with complex needs within the scope of OT.
Experience with complex physical disabilities (seating, postural management, upper‑limb function, assistive technology).
Experience developing and coordinating individual family service plans (IFSPs) or equivalent.
Experience using autism diagnostic assessments such as the ADOS.
Command of the English language to carry out duties effectively.
Full driving licence qualified for driving on Irish roads.
Salary Scale
€65,197 - €76,767 per annum (1/6/2026 DOH Consolidated Scales) and pro‑rata for part‑time role.
Reporting to
Children’s Disability Network Manager on operational matters. Clinical governance and supervision will be provided by the Lead Agency Head of Discipline.
