JOB PURPOSE/ROLEReporting to the Head of technical accounting, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, supporting the month end processes, regulatory returns, and internal Allianz Group reporting.The Financial Accountant is pro-actively driving these processes and provides expert input to it.
The Financial Accountant is a key point of contact in the Accounting team and supports colleagues in their development.
The Financial Accountant understands the underlying business processes and can conceptionally define the required accounting/tax/reporting treatment.
The role is within a continuously growing company and team and provides plenty of opportunity to grow and develop in the field of reinsurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe role will include:Working under different accounting regimes: IFRS and Solvency IIManage work assignments independently from start to completion as well as being able to define and solve problems independentlySupporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsAssist with training, coaching, and developing junior staff members.Supporting the year-end external audit by responding to auditors' requests for information and documentation, providing input to and reviewing the Company's Financial Statements; Supporting Solvency II regulatory reporting (input, review, testing of QRTs)Supporting and delivering on internal audit requestsCollaborating in a global team and managing relationship with different internal and external stakeholders including Allianz Group, Allianz Re SE, cedents, vendors, banks, clients, local authorities etc.
as requiredIdentifying and driving process improvements to ensure efficiencies maintained within the teamAssist in assessing complex transactions, providing input and/or project management to ensure all key stakeholders alignedDrive self knowledge of the business, systems, and outputs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the accounting function KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Qualifications:ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified accountant Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Experience:Relevant working experience (2+ years post qualification) in the financial services sector – preference given to Big 4 audit firms and/or (re-)insurancePrevious knowledge of SAP favouredPrevious knowledge of Solvency II strongly preferredStrong analytical skills and curiosity to expand own field of expertiseExperience of coordinating and delivering accurate output with multiple deadlines Highly motivated and used to working in a self-organized waySolid understanding of IFRS17 and its practical implementation 72183 | Finance & Accounting | Professional | n.a.
