Under Higher Education Authoritys Entrepreneurship Education Initiative, Munster Technological University (MTU) has been successful in securing significant funding to support the continued transformation of the staff and student experience across MTU.
Munster Technological University wishes to appoint a Staff Officer to assist with the set-up, administration and delivery of student innovation and entrepreneurship activities, to work with academic and other colleagues to design and deliver student initiatives as well as special projects and events.
This role is based on the Cork campus, working closely with the Student Enterprise Office in Kerry and will provide on-going support to student entrepreneurship programmes and initiative and other related projects.
The role reports to the Regional Student Entrepreneurship Manager, Cork, or their delegate.
Please note the postholder may be required to travel between MTU Campus locations.
Main duties and responsibilities will include: Support of student entrepreneurship and innovation programmes, activities, and initiatives.
Promotion of student entrepreneurship activities across all Cork campuses including class visits, attendance at events etc Work with the other universities participating in the 2025 Student Inc programme Administrative support to student entrepreneurship projects Secretarial support at meetings and committees as required; diary management, arranging for meetings, lunches and events.
Preparing reports and updates on student entrepreneurship activities as required.
Organisation of meetings, visits, events and seminars.
Provide support for special project promotion including social media marketing.
Assisting with the coordination of events throughout March as part of Innovation and Enterprise month To undertake other appropriate duties assigned by Student Entrepreneurship Manager or their delegate.
Promotion of events and initiatives through social media including LinkedIn Mentoring of students during competitions and entrepreneurship programmes.
The successful candidate will have minimum academic qualifications and experience as follows: Essential: Have obtained at least Grade D3 (H6/O6) in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied, or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise.
Experience in a post which indicates the potential of the applicant to perform the main duties of the post.
Relevant Administrative experience which demonstrates a competency on the systems and structures which underpin the functioning of the University.
Demonstrable experience of writing reports.
Highly skilled in MS Office, Office 365, TEAMS and Zoom.
Experience of working as part of a team.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrable ability to work on their own initiative.
Evidence of self-development.
Ability to be adaptable and responsive to the varied and dynamic work environment which is necessary for the efficient operation of the Office.
Fluent in written & spoken English.
Desirable: Ordinary degree in Business or STEM discipline Experience & knowledge of MTU student entrepreneurship programmes & initiatives Event Management experience.
Relevant experience of project management.
