Slaughter Line Operations Manager
This role involves overseeing the efficient functioning of slaughter line facilities, encompassing intake, kill, evisceration, and storage of animals.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing slaughter line processes to meet productivity levels, ensuring carcass loading and chill operation are optimized.
* Collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure uptime and plan production delivery.
* Reporting on activity, productivity, costs, deviations, initiatives, and actions daily, weekly, and monthly.
* Ensuring animal welfare from livestock vehicles to stunning.
* Complying with customer and regulatory requirements.
* Driving slaughter line uptime performance and implementing preventative maintenance systems.
* Maximizing efficient utilisation of raw materials.
* Liaising with onsite regulatory representatives to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
* Developing staff skills, including SOP management and operator training.
* Implementing cost controls in relation to labor.
* Maintaining health and safety standards and practices.
* Controlling payment data collection system operations.
* Supporting change management and lean management initiatives.
* Adhering to company environmental policy.
Requirements include:
* Management experience in an animal slaughter process.
* Strong understanding of production processes and equipment.
* Lean management and problem-solving experience.
* Good organisational skills.
* People management skills and experience.
* Financial/KPI management experience.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles.
