Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity to join Tirlan We have an opening for the role of Head of Agri Procurement and Grains. Reporting to the Chief Agribusiness Officer, the role will be responsible for overseeing procurement & pricing and strategic execution for the Grains Category within Agribusiness.
Objectives of this role
* Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Drive cost savings, efficiency, and innovation in sourcing practices.
* Manage and develop external stakeholder relationships, with industry stakeholders, including the IFA, IGGA, Diageo, MCI etc
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
* Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
* Monitor supplier performance against KPIs (price, quality, delivery).
* Oversee end-to-end procurement processes, including tendering, evaluation, and contract management.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
* Implement procurement technologies and process improvements.
* Collaborate with all sales teams to align retail and sales strategies.
* Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure best value proposition for Feed and Grains
* Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
* Analyse procurement metrics and report on cost savings and performance.
* Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
* Develop contingency plans for Supply Chain disruption
Required skills and qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related field.
* 10+ years' experience in the Agri industry
* Ability to analyse past performance, identify improvement opportunities and prioritise future investment
* Experience in leadership roles in Procurement and cost optimisation
