Senior Automation Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment (cGMP)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to support the administration, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing operation of manufacturing equipment–specific applications and systems within a cGMP-regulated environment.
This role focuses on small manufacturing and laboratory equipment, providing hands‑on technical support and acting as a subject matter expert across automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Providing end‑user support for manufacturing equipment applications, including troubleshooting and issue resolution, with clear communication to stakeholders and users
Supporting a range of equipment from standalone systems (e.g. UV spectrophotometers, pH meters, particle samplers) to networked equipment (e.g. wave rockers, LabX instruments, cell analysers)
Planning and executing automation preventative maintenance activities
Generating and maintaining automation documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and configuration specifications
Performing routine administrative tasks related to system support and user account management
Acting as a subject matter expert and collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams on automation‑related projects
Implementing software and hardware changes or upgrades, with a clear understanding of the impact on manufacturing and facilitiesSupporting activities before, during, and after regulatory or partner inspections
Managing and supporting automation change control requests
Participating in or leading projects to introduce new manufacturing equipment or upgrade existing systems
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience working in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment
Minimum experience by level
Engineer: 2+ years
Senior Engineer: 5+ years
Principal Engineer: 8+ years
Final level and title will be determined based on experience, technical capability, and overall suitability for the role.
