We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with proven experience in card payments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the card payments ecosystem, including acquiring, issuing, schemes and related technologies. You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring all business, regulatory, and technical objectives are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the card payments domain, including new product launches, platform migrations, regulatory compliance, and scheme certifications.
Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring robust governance and documentation.
Liaise with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and external vendors.
Build and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
Coordinate with third-party providers including payment processors, gateways, acquirers, and card schemes.
Ensure project objectives align with strategic goals and comply with regulatory and industry standards.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Track budgets, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and ensure lessons learned are documented.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in project management within financial services, with a focus on card payments.
Strong understanding of card payment systems, including issuing, acquiring, interchange, and settlement.
Familiarity with payment scheme rules.
Demonstrated experience delivering complex technical and business change projects.
Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (e.g. Scrum Master).
Experience working with APIs, EMV, tokenization, or fraud prevention tools.
Background in fintech, banking, payment gateways, or card-issuing platforms.
