As Meta's Communications Manager in Ireland you will play a pivotal, hands-on role in shaping and executing Meta's communications strategy across the country. You will lead both proactive and reactive communications for the Meta family of apps, collaborating with local and global teams to manage media relations, social-first campaigns, and policy-related press issues. In the role, you'll directly influence Meta's reputation and brand presence in Ireland.This is a Short Term Employment opportunity (STE) of 16 months. Communications Manager, Ireland - (STE 16 months) Responsibilities:Lead and execute Meta's communications strategy in Ireland across a number of themes including AI, crafting plans and programmes based on reputational needs, company plans and metricsWork cross-functionally with numerous teams, locally and globally, to manage media opportunities, social first elements and mitigate crisisCreate campaigns designed to proactively address Meta's brand reputation and challenges specific to IrelandIdentify and pitch positive news stories about Meta and its technologies to deliver a steady pipeline of proactive coverage in IrelandManage reactive press issues, working closely with the Policy Communications team in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and the Public Policy team in Ireland to tackle issues and build proactive communications moments that advance the company's position e.g. responding to reporters, drafting statements, correcting inaccuracies etcProvide communications counsel and support for business leaders in Ireland and in Meta in general - including executive positioningPrepare communications plans, briefing materials and manage spokespeople during media interviews, social activations and eventsManage creator relations for Communications moments, including our external agencyPlay a part in the broader UK & Ireland team, supporting on UK projects and issues as neededMinimum Qualifications:10+ years of experience executing media campaigns, crisis management, building relationships with media and working with executivesVery effective communication skillsSignificant experience in managing external communications, corporate issues and project managementExperience managing agencies and putting in place scalable processes to drive and measure resultsEstablished relationships and contacts with media in IrelandProven project management and decision-making skillsExperience working with, influencing and presenting to very experienced stakeholdersExperienced collaborator, well-versed in influencing others, and adept at bringing larger groups along to execute complex cross-team projectsAdept at using AI in their day-to-day workAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
