GALRO, a leading social care provider, has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Maintenance Operative.Contract type: Full Time- Permanent.Operating Base: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and Portarlington, Co. Laois.Hours: 40 hours per weekReporting to: Maintenance Lead/ Head of Care.The maintenance operative is responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance, repair and improvement tasks, to ensure residential properties are kept in a safe, functional and presentable condition.Duties include both indoor and outdoor work, covering basic trades such as carpentry, plumbing and general grounds maintenance.Main Duties:Keeping residential properties clean and maintained to an acceptable standard of cleanliness, upkeep and repair.Carry out general repairs across all areas of the property.Respond to reported maintenance issues in a timely and efficient manner.Assemble/ repair furniture as required.Fit shelves, curtain rails and other basic installations.Report any complex electrical faults to a qualified electrician.Report hazards or potential risks to management promptly.Maintain garden areas, mow lawns, trim hedges, clear debris.Ensure all maintenance activity comply with health and safety regulations.The ideal candidate will:Have proven experience working as a maintenance operative/ handyman.Have high personal integrity, respect for others and have the ability to work independently.Have a good understanding of health and safety and infection, prevention and control in the workplace.Have a great attention to detail which assists with keeping the facility clean, tidy and orderly.Have strong problem solving skills and manage workload efficiently.Have the ability to use hand and power tools safely.What we require:Safe Pass certificate.Full Drivers Licence & Transport to work (van provided for working hours).Clean Garda Vetting.Manual Handling training.Online training: Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Abuse & Children's First (HSE Land courses).Job Type: Full-timeApplication question(s):Do you have a full Irish Drivers Licence?Do you have a valid Safe Pass certificate?Work Location: On the road
