Manufacturing Line Equipment Technician Position

A highly skilled technician is required to lead equipment primary and support processes within the manufacturing area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise to resolve equipment issues, maintaining optimal operation at all times, and owning downtime metrics and product yields.

Key Responsibilities

* Take ownership of the technical performance/reliability of equipment to target zero downtime in the designated area relating to equipment faults through proactive management.
* Evaluate equipment and process inputs/outputs to ensure optimal visual and functional product performance and take action before it impacts on uptime or yield.
* Complete preventative maintenance tasks on time and offer improvements when found deficient, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
* Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve workstation efficiency or yield improvement and implement them through the approval process with supporting data.
* Ensure tooling including mandrels/trim fixtures etc. are available to the line when required and are in optimal working order and fit for purpose.
* Support the onboarding of new technician hires when required.
* Be fully competent in manufacturing products through all work steps and identify Accept and Reject samples for all steps, understanding the intended use of products and the impact of defects on functionality.

Requirements

* Requires a Level 6 Higher Certificate or above in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering).
* Minimum 5 years experience in a technical role in a similar field is required, with demonstrated experience in automated equipment maintenance being an advantage.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults through experience with electrical and pneumatic systems.
* Highly motivated with good initiative and strong work ethic.
* Demonstrated process and continuous improvement mindset.
* Excellent time management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
