Overview
The Engineering Technician2 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation, and transfer of custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products.
This role will transition to the Weekend Day Shift in Q******, consisting of 12-hour day shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.
Shift premium is 15% for Saturday and Sunday only.
Responsibilities
Work with schematics, diagrams, layouts, and plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment.
Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
Analyze and record test results, and prepare written documentation.
Perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
Carry out activities in equipment development under the supervision of the project engineer, including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and electronics, and completing engineering studies and validations.
Follow Dexcom's Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.
Update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, specifications) as needed.
Assume and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Level6/7 qualification with a minimum of 2–4 years of related experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
Ability to write routine reports, pass-downs, and correspondence.
Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers.
Knowledge and experience with PLCs, pneumatic, electro-mechanical, and robotic systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience with process improvement projects (e.g., improving yields, reducing downtime).
Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and personal interaction skills.
Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
Technical writing skills applied to manufacturing documentation and process development.
Experience creating and revising technical documentation.
