The Financial Controller will lead the finance function at a large manufacturing site, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, cost management, and compliance with group policies. This is 12 Month FTC and there is an immediate need to fill the role.The Role:Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts in line with group reporting deadlines.Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing clear insights and commentary to site and group management.Maintain strong balance sheet control, including inventory, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.Coordinate year-end accounts preparation and liaise with internal and external auditors.Monitor and analyse site performance, including yield, labour, overheads, and production efficiencies.Partner with operational teams to support continuous improvement and margin enhancement initiatives.Develop and maintain detailed cost models relevant to a manufacturing environment.Ensure compliance with group financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.Oversee site-level tax and statutory compliance (e.g. VAT, payroll-related reporting) in conjunction with Group Finance.Support internal audits and implement control improvements as required.Manage site cashflow and working capital, including inventory, debtor, and creditor controls.Drive working capital improvement initiatives in line with group targets.Lead, develop, and motivate the site finance team.Act as the primary finance contact between the site and Group Finance.Build strong working relationships with operations, procurement, sales, and HR teams.Ensure effective use of ERP and financial systems.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.Support group finance projects, system upgrades, and standardisation initiatives.Requirements:Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.Strong management accounting, budgeting, and financial control experience.Proven ability to partner effectively with operational teams.Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.Experience in food or high-volume manufacturing environments.Previous people management or team leadership experience.Exposure to multi-site or group reporting structures.Commercially astute with strong analytical capability.Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.High levels of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.For more information on the role, contact Ray Brennan directly on or on
