JOB SUMMARY Under the guidance of The Health Club Manager and within the limits of Hotel Policies, ensure the maintenance of the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction throughout all aspects of the operation. Operations: Assists in the daily operational duties of the Health Club. Ensures compliance with Marriott Operating Standards to maintain brand integrity. Guest Satisfaction: Strives to meet or exceed customer expectations. Human Resources: Assists in maintaining the Marriott culture. Financial Management: Assists as needed in managing the Health Club function, operating budget and capital expenditure budget to achieve or exceed budget expectations. Technical Expertise (Learning and Applying Personal Expertise) The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position: Operations/Property Management To establish exercise programs for guests and members taking into account their needs and goals monitoring their progress on a regular basis. To maintain a pro-active presence in the fitness areas, offering help, advice and support to all users. Day to day responsibility for equipment, cleanliness and hygiene of the premises. In conjunction with maintenance responsible for performing plant room procedures including daily water balance tests and maintaining the correct disinfecting, pH levels of Vitality/ swimming pool. Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, and must adhere to training as set down by the Health Club Manager or Spa Director. To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as laid down by the Health Club Manager or Spa Director. To acknowledge and be courteous to guests and other members of staff at all times. Conduct fitness assessments and personal training. Instruct fitness classes and any other activities as offered by the Health Club or Spa. Ensure changing areas, poolside, heat experiences and relaxation rooms are tidy, clean and stocked with linen at all times. Supervise the Vitality and swimming pool as required. Will perform as a professional with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Health Club Manager and Spa Director. To assist in membership retention and tours. Complies with all current Marriott standard and local operating policies and procedures Guest Satisfaction Sets a positive example for guest relations. Is empowered to deal with guest problems, through using the LEARN process, and seeking advice when unsure what to do Human Resources Maintains superior relations with associates and responds to queries accurately and timely Develops self and others, by responding to and giving feedback to other associates Financial Management Assists in the financial management of Spa & Leisure function Understands the impact of the Health Club operation on the overall hotel Other Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs. The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realise this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. A Manager may be required to work additional hours to meet the business needs. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
