Musgrave Northern Ireland is recruiting a Management Accountant to join our Finance Team.
Role Purpose: To provide support to the finance department in all areas of management and financial reporting, with an emphasis on the production of the weekly and monthly management accounts.
To be a key player in the quarter-end hard close, forecasting and budgeting processes.
To complete weekly, periodic and monthly reporting requirements and the timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
To be a finance business partner for the relevant parts of the NI business, providing insight and challenge to help drive business performance.
Role Scope: The Management Accountant will be responsible for the production, distribution and analysis of key reports which are used to monitor financial performance, drive the business and provide financial and management information to other departments, senior management and Musgrave Group.
Area of Responsibility: Completion of weekly and period management reporting information to the Internal Management Team Key Activities: Provide sales, margin and cost information as required across the business Production of weekly management accounts to strict timelines Production of the periodic management accounts to strict timelines Engage with management to provide insight, guidance and challenge on business performance and cost control and support the business to identify and deliver cost reductions.
Any other reports/information as requested by senior management Measures: Periodic management accounts produced to agreed timelines with supporting analysis All weekly and periodic reports issued within agreed timeframes Support the senior management with the appropriate level of insight and challenge All other reports/requests for information completed within agreed timeframe Area of Responsibility: Year end and quarterly hard close balance sheet integrity Key Activities: Ensure timely closure of all relevant ledgers and timely input of all necessary journals in accordance with group and divisional requirements Ensure that accurate and concise balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly and quarterly basis in accordance with group requirements and all aspects are followed up to maintain the integrity of the balance sheet.
Provide support in the preparation and completion of reporting templates and presentations as required Providing information for auditors as required including resolving any queries that may arise Measures: Accurate and timely closure of ledgers at quarter and year end Production of high quality balance sheet reconciliations within deadline requirements Production of all relevant schedules within the timeframes laid out to complete monthly, quarterly and YE requirements.
Area of Responsibility: Production of budget and forecast information Key Activities: Support and be actively involved in the forecasting and budgeting processes through the preparation of detailed analysis on all areas of the P&L.
Responsible for investigating and reporting any significant variances and KPIs compared to budget/forecast, prior year and prior period.
Generation of group templates and presentational information for review with the wider management team.
Measures: All forecast figures to be completed within the timeframe set out in the forecast/budget timetables All analysis and detail to be produced to a standard which provides insight and clarity for the business.
Area of Responsibility: Commercial support to the Management team as a Business Partner Key Activities: Provide financial information to support the decision making of the business Engage with the managers of the business using financial information and provide support and challenge.
Measures: Financial information provided is clear and appropriate to enable the correct business decisions to be made.
Always represent the finance team in a professional and engaging manner.
Person Specification: Essential Qualifications: Accountancy Qualification to ACA, CIMA or ACCA standard.
A minimum of 1 years experience working as a Management Accountant in a fast paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with respect to large databases Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to agreed deadlines Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Ability to work on own initiative Desirable Qualifications: 3rd level qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting Exposure to Oracle and BCP Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
