Senior
Cardiac Physiologist
in a Hospital in
Dublin,Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and interpret ECGs, identifying and highlighting abnormal findings.
Conduct and independently report transthoracic echocardiography to BSE/EACVI/ARDMS standards.
Manage loop recorders, pacemakers, ICDs, and biventricular devices, including interrogation, follow-up, and home-monitoring via the Heart Rhythm Ireland database.
Perform 24-hour Holter monitoring, including patient hookup, data downloading, analysis, and interpretation.
Carry out 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, including setup and analysis.
Conduct and interpret event recording procedures.
Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during angiograms and percutaneous coronary interventions, including emergency procedures.
Perform tilt-table testing when required.
Perform procedures, generate reports, and highlight abnormal findings.
Calibrate, maintain, and sterilise equipment as necessary.
Take patient histories and interpret requisition forms accurately.
Prepare and reassure patients before procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
Maintain accurate patient databases and records.
Comply with health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices.
Participate in training and education of students and junior physiologists.
Respond effectively to medical emergencies, including performing CPR.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Stay updated on current standards, protocols, and advancements in diagnostic cardiology.
Requirements
Possess a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Measurement Science, Clinical Physiology, or an equivalent qualification.
Have a minimum of three years' experience working in a similar clinical environment.
Demonstrate excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
Show adaptability and flexibility in response to the rapid changes within the hospital environment.
