Purpose of the role: Team Leader that organizes and manages the performance of a line/lines or cell and of their team members.
May form part of a rotating team of Team Leaders.
Performs Stock Control and production planning and takes a driving role in CIP and Continuous Improvement.
Is highly responsive and proactive in maximizing cell and line performance.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited) to the following: Makes product occasionally (50% of the time) Is accountable for the metrics with respect to the output, efficiency, yield, safety, quality, service and cost.
Manages the area Visual Factory system with the help of the supervisor.
Trains new employees.
Identifies and takes action on training requirements.
Ensures training is completed, verifies standards / competence, ensures records and training system is up to date for team.
Highlights resource requirements to supervisor.
Performs day to day people management like time, attendance and performance, TMS, holiday scheduling etc.
Takes immediate action on downtime to resolve issues in a timely manner and maximize resource usage during downtime.
Monitors and maintains the supply and quality of raw materials.
Performs production planning and communicates ship dates to CS with help from the area supervisor and updates shipping plan daily.
Has the ability to organize work areas and work for others.
Assumes responsibility in emergency situations as required.
Plays a lead role in identifying and implementing CIP opportunities.
Performs daily administration duties, posting materials/labour, stocktakes etc.
Drives procedural compliance and adherence to and improvement of quality standards and GMP.
Root cause analysis and investigation.
Implementing new products/ projects (setting targets, process flow).
In conjunction with supervisor monitor time and attendance.
Ensure that operators are appropriately trained.
Day to day allocation of duties and responsibilities within the team Act as a support to the team to achieve set targets Giving general Technical support to Technician/Engineer.
Ensure all paperwork and product history is filled in correctly Ensure that operational SOPs are being adhered to at all times Identify any improvement opportunities within the SOPs.
In conjunction with Supervisor, ensure that GMP and Health & Safety standards are maintained within the area.
Responsible for outputs, yield and efficiency Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Achieve the daily targets for the area.
Stocktaking and control of all materials to improve accuracy and variances.
Direct work to cover variances.
Basic troubleshooting for common problems if necessary.
Identify and feed up areas for productivity improvements (speeds, reduction of labour etc.) Basic Change overs within the cell.
(Moulders, bonders etc).
Day to day production planning in conjunction with the supervisor.
Ensure that any issues effecting delivery dates are raised in a timely manner.
