Overview of Role
UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic are currently recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) Haemavigilance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Participate in the development of the Hemovigilance Service supporting clinical needs, aligned with UPMC SSC’s mission and strategic plan.
* Implement and maintain a patient-centered quality management program, including performance measurement and audits.
* Promote open communication within the hospital.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and hospital information.
* Participate in hospital accreditation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Conduct audits to ensure compliance with best practices from the British Society for Haematology.
* Attend relevant meetings and develop quality initiatives.
* Formulate patient information leaflets as needed.
* Develop, review, and update policies, procedures, and guidelines for the department.
* Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
Clinical and Educational Role
Support the rollout of the Blood Track system and ensure compliance with processes, education, and connectivity with REES system in Cappagh Hospital.
Report suspected adverse reactions/events and assist in risk management assessments.
Collect and submit reports to the National Hemovigilance Office and assist in annual reporting.
Ensure blood product traceability and assist with recall procedures.
Review and audit blood transfusion practices and support staff education and training.
Participate in quality objectives development and maintain relationships with relevant departments.
Liaise with quality representatives and maintain awareness of patient safety and quality service provision.
Information Technology and Quality Assurance
Utilize IT effectively for patient care and administration; ensure compliance with relevant blood safety directives and regulations, including ISO 15189 standards.
Minimum Requirements
* Current NMBI registration.
* Experience in Hemovigilance or blood transfusion.
* Knowledge and ability to perform duties effectively.
* Responsibility, initiative, and motivation.
* Patient-focused approach.
* Computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
* Organizational skills and attention to detail.
