Support, promote, and actively participate in sustainable energy, decarbonisation, water, and transport initiatives to create more sustainable, low-carbon, and efficient facilities.Why you should apply:You enjoy working in a culture of learning and collaboration and making a positive impact.Our client has developed a stand-out culture of innovation, inclusion, and development, and consistently features as a great place to work.Generous rates and a 24-month contract.What you will be doing:Monitoring and reporting on energy consumption in healthcare premises.Supporting existing and initiating new Energy Awareness Management Teams in identified locations.Building on best practices in existing areas.Establishing Energy Management Teams with hospital, finance, maintenance, and estates managers.Supporting Hospital Green Teams and Energy Teams.Providing metered energy and water usage data, comparators, and KPIs.Progressing energy audits and compiling action plans for each location.Running staff energy awareness and education programmes.Developing work already undertaken through the OPW’s ‘Optimising Power @ Work’ programme.Progressing Display Energy Certificates (DECs).Producing a register of opportunities and supporting project development for retrofit projects.Utilising benefit assessment tools to prioritize projects.Progressing funding applications for capital works, including major, minor, and EPC projects.Managing specifications, design, procurement, and completion of minor capital works.Reviewing MIC for all supply points.Collaborating with and advising The National Estates Energy Unit and working as part of the Regional Energy Bureau.Reporting monthly on activities, progress, and expenditures.Contributing to the annual energy minor works programme.Performing other duties as assigned.What you need to apply:Hold a Level 8 (or higher) QQI major award in Mechanical, Electrical, or Sustainable Energy Engineering, accredited by the relevant body.Membership of Engineers Ireland or a relevant professional association.At least five years’ experience post-qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, including design, project management, or building services maintenance.Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform the role effectively.Be of good character.
