Job Summary
The Lead Electronic Engineer directs technical development of all aspects of electronic and electrical hardware for BD’s Infusion Systems. Provides technical direction to the Electronics Engineering team and collaborates with Mechanical, Systems, Embedded, and Application Software teams.
Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle development of electronic hardware: concept generation, requirements definition, detailed design, prototyping, and validation.
Manage and mentor a team of electronic engineers.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, software, and quality assurance teams to integrate electronic systems into medical devices.
Perform circuit design, schematic capture, circuit calculations and simulations, PCB layout review, and component selection.
Develop and execute test plans, analyze results, and troubleshoot electronic systems.
Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, IEC 60601) and internal quality procedures.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA.
Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electronic engineering activities.
Prepare technical documentation: specifications, design descriptions, and test reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of electronic hardware design and development experience, with at least 3 years in a senior engineering role.
Experience in regulated industries (Medical, Military, Aerospace, Automotive) is beneficial.
Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and sensor integration.
Expertise with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, OrCAD/Allegro).
Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Bluetooth).
Solid understanding of EMI/EMC principles and regulatory compliance.
Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
