Now, we're looking for a Transport Manager to join our team in New Ross. This role supports the growth of the organisation while keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.


Responsibilities

* Managing/leading the transport management and distribution team
* Co-ordination of all Transport activities ensuring the smooth running of the depot
* Responsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basis
* Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team
* Effectively liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve all issues in a timely manner
* Collaborating with Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedules
* Ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to at all times; minimising equipment breakdowns and repairs and reporting them; maintaining the premises to high standards
* Ensuring all company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brand
* Managing backhaul collections and ensuring adherence on a daily basis
* Managing Transport Compliance to industry-leading standards
* Identifying, coordinating and delivering training as appropriate
* Ensuring Security and Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times
* Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner


Requirements

* 3+ years' experience in a relevant management/supervisory role in a high-volume, technology-driven, time-sensitive multi-drop distribution operation
* Experience within the food distribution industry is advantageous
* Full Driver’s Licence; Management CPC advantageous
* Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
* Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service
* Proven ability to make effective decisions with a hands-on approach
* Ability to plan and organise work activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner
* Ability to analyse, interpret and present relevant business data
* Fluent English – reading and writing
* High level of flexibility and problem solving
* Strong knowledge of Department of Transport regulations (tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive, etc.)
* Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area
