Overview We are currently working with an established and highly respected FMCG manufacturer in County Meath and are seeking to recruit a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their engineering team on a permanent day-shift schedule.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth plant operations, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities Provide technical support across production machinery, equipment maintenance, installations, and modifications.
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
Manage work orders efficiently and accurately through the site's maintenance management system.
Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Respond to production breakdowns, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
Uphold high standards of safety, compliance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and site procedures.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to deliver consistent operational performance.
Criteria Fully qualified Fitter (or equivalent trade qualification).
3-5 years' maintenance experience within an FMCG, manufacturing, or similar high-volume environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills; electrical experience is a distinct advantage.
Exposure to high-speed packaging equipment, pumps, or large-scale mechanical systems beneficial.
Comfortable working autonomously as well as part of a wider engineering team.
Computer literacy essential; experience with CMMS systems an advantage.
High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
