Overview
We are partnering with a fast-growing private business in the construction sector to recruit a Head of Sales. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, leading sales teams, expanding into new markets, and shaping long-term commercial strategy.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to a commercially astute leader with deep sector knowledge and a track record of delivering growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams
2. Define and execute sales strategies, pricing models, and customer plans
3. Drive revenue, margin, and profitability targets across the business
4. Identify and develop new markets, both domestically and internationally
5. Explore and introduce new products and services aligned to market demand
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners
7. Oversee key account management and long-term customer retention
8. Manage escalated customer issues and ensure timely resolution
9. Deliver accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis
10. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance
11. Present sales performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Candidate Profile
12. Proven experience in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within Building Products
13. Strong exposure to Builders Merchants and construction supply channels
14. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
15. Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
16. High level of commercial awareness and market insight
17. Proficient in Excel and Office 365; CRM experience (e.g. Salesforce) is advantageous
