Automation Engineer

Reporting to the Software Controls Lead the successful candidate will:
Key Responsibilities:
· Managing the controls software development lifecycle.
· Control software development and system design using IEC standard.
· Data driven skills, to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems.
· Monitoring system performance.
Overseeing the testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of new software, project development, design, build and documentation.
· Communicating key project data to team members and building cohesion among mechanical and electrical engineers
· Developing and directing software system validation and testing methods.
· Working closely with clients and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.
· Applying best practices problem-solving initiatives and standard operating procedures.
· Creating innovative solutions to meet our company's technical needs and shaping the future of our systems.
· Developing and executing project plans.
Key Requirements
5 years' experience as a Controls engineer
Experience with CODESYS / Beckhoff TwinCAT Structured text programming is a distinct advantage
Ideal candidates would be familiar with Beckhoff Safety, Beckhoff Motion and vision systems
Knowledge of electrical panels, design and planning
3rd Level Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
Hands on experience using TC HMI (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Database and Software architecture
Excellent knowledge of OOP and modern development technologies and tools
Excellent communication skills and strong management engagement skills
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong desire and ability to mentor engineers of all levels.
Passionate about controls software development and building strong engineering teams.
Have the aptitude to learn and troubleshoot complex projects & combine with the principles of engineering and controls software development.
Expertise of writing unit, integration, systems, and performance tests
Familiar with SCRUM agile framework and project management
· Is eager to take on new problems and work independently as well as collaboratively, it is so important to have a 'can-do' approach to teamwork.
