The Role
Tesco Ireland is currently seeking to appoint a Line Manager for a key department who will support and lead a team to deliver the best shop experience for our customers.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead and coach your team to deliver the best shopping trip for customers by ensuring great service, standards, and availability.
* Deliver all key performance indicators for your department.
* Make daily decisions that support your team in doing their jobs.
* Implement the training plan, ensuring all colleagues receive quality training, are validated to do their job, and have an up‑to‑date training card.
* Ensure all processes, routines, and systems for your department are completed accurately and on time.
* Plan seasonal, trade‑driving, and promotional activities to achieve maximum sales, impact, and presentation.
* Maintain safe and legal routines for your department, ensuring plans address any identified issues.
* Help colleagues understand the importance of the “what” and the “how”, set objectives, conduct regular reviews, career discussions, and maintain a live PDP.
* Provide regular coaching and feedback across the store, improving team skills.
* Encourage team confidence to call out behavioural issues and improve the customer experience.
* Create an environment that encourages innovation and personal growth.
* Model a culture where customers love to shop and colleagues love to work.
Responsibilities
* Always put the customer first.
* Get to know your customers and serve them with pride.
* Ensure products and services are available at all times.
* Handle all products with care to maintain quality.
* Keep the shop floor and back areas clean and tidy.
* Follow department routines and processes using the training received.
* Adhere to all company policies and health & safety routines.
* Support colleagues in other departments if required.
Experience
* Must have previous management experience.
* For the Line Manager role, a demonstrated track record of: passion for delivering the right way for customers and colleagues; adaptability and agility; delivering key objectives in a fast‑paced environment; being the “go‑to” person for all departmental queries; shaping and influencing at senior level; previous retail experience preferred.
