Job Title: Senior Technical Underwriter Location: Dublin City Working Model: Hybrid Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Underwriter to join our client's Commercial Underwriting team in Dublin.
This position will focus on underwriting excellence across Commercial Property and Casualty lines, supporting the development and implementation of underwriting standards and best practices.
Your Role Lead the documentation and ongoing review of underwriting risk appetite across key commercial classes.
Produce clear analytical reports with findings and recommendations on products, market trends, and underwriting performance.
Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes, product design, and customer experience.
Manage selected non-material classes and product schemes within the portfolio.
Review and enhance product wordings to ensure alignment with market, regulatory, and business requirements.
Liaise with reinsurance partners to maintain optimal coverage levels.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent application of underwriting standards across trading, claims, and product areas.
Act as a key point of referral for complex technical queries.
Deliver training to underwriting and sales teams on product features, pricing, and risk appetite.
Contribute to cross-functional projects as an underwriting subject matter expert.
Your Skills Minimum of 6 years' experience in technical or commercial underwriting across Property and Casualty lines.
CIP qualification essential; MDI or ACII desirable.
Proven experience making technical underwriting decisions across a wide range of risks.
Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing ability.
Solid understanding of the Irish commercial insurance market and product suite.
Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with technical underwriting rigour.
