We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Cork. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative solutions for Orthopaedic and Trauma applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* You will independently design and implement complex concepts and systems, including system architectural design, relevant design documentation, test planning, and execution.
* You will specialize in various technology domains and evaluate new technologies to support designs and the selection of platform technologies.
* You will work closely with surgeon customers to clearly communicate design goals and incorporate feedback into designs.
* You will ensure compliance with relevant requirements in cooperation with other engineering disciplines.
* You will maintain and improve engineering methods and practices, train and mentor regarding established engineering best practices, design principles, processes, and tools.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in science, preferably Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years industry experience. Experience in product design for Orthopaedics in the medical device industry or related engineering/manufacturing experience is also required.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Demonstrated leadership of technical work groups.
* Experience in the function, clinical issues, and performance requirements of Orthopaedic implants.
* Experience leading complex product development initiatives from concept through release.
* Experience in design controls and risk management within a regulated industry.
* Experience with parametric CAD design packages.
* Demonstrated understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and its application.
