You'll act as the link between business users and the data team, helping stakeholders explore and understand their data, while ensuring solutions are accurate, secure, and meaningful.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with business teams to gather, analyse, and prioritise reporting and data requirements
* Translate business needs into well-structured user stories and functional specifications
* Define and maintain KPIs, business rules, and performance metrics
* Trace data and functionality across systems to support root cause analysis and requirement validation
* Build and iterate Power BI dashboards, reports, and proof-of-concepts (POCs, POVs, POTs) to support understanding
* Validate data accuracy and completeness across prototypes and production releases
* Work with stakeholders to review and sign off on deliverables (UAT, business readiness, etc.)
* Support Data Owners and Stewards to maintain high-quality metadata, definitions, and data quality rules
* Champion the use of Microsoft Purview for cataloguing, lineage, and governance visibility
* Assist with business enablement for Microsoft Fabric in driving confidence around data discovery and self-service use
* Contribute to broader data literacy and maturity uplift programmes (e.g. onboarding, training, documentation)
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have
* Proven experience as a Data or Business Analyst in a data-focused delivery environment
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable working on-site in the Limerick region three days per week
* High proficiency in Power BI and Excel
* Solid understanding of data concepts: governance, quality, KPIs, metadata, lineage
* Proficiency in SQL (data validation, traceability, ad hoc querying)
* Ability to work across business and technical teams, translating needs clearly and pragmatically
* Experience supporting full project lifecycles - requirements, testing, go-live and post-go-live support
Preferred
* Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Azure Data Factory
* Exposure to data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA, DCAM)
* Awareness of Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
* Comfortable contributing to self-service BI rollouts and data enablement strategies
Why This Role Matters
This is a central role in a growing data team, working at the intersection of analytics, governance, and delivery. You won't just write requirements. You'll help shape real outcomes and see your impact in how data gets used across the organisation.
