Position: Lending Manager Role Summary: The Lending Manager role will have responsibility for day-to-day operation of the credit unions lending function.
The primary focus of the role will be to enhance and grow the credit union's loan book while ensuring the credit union's lending policies are in line with relevant regulatory requirements, yet enable lending to our members most efficiently.
The Lending Manager will need to identify operational efficiencies within the lending practices.
The Lending Manager will sit as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will support with the implementation of the credit union's strategic growth objectives.
Role Purpose: The Lending Manager will also be responsible for all aspects of the members loan experience, including underwriting, and will help identify opportunities for the credit union to diversify its lending options.
The Lending Manager will manage the day-to-day operation of the lending team to ensure the highest standard of member satisfaction while helping to grow Ballina Credit Unions market share, while working with the relevant stakeholders to achieve Ballina Credit Unions strategic objectives.
Relevant qualifications and significant lending experience in personal loans and small to medium-sized enterprise lending are required.
The successful candidate must also understand Ballina Credit Unions ethos and operating principles.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountability: Oversee and lead the lending function, including management of the lending team Assess and approve loans in accordance with regulations and within the remits of policies Review and enhance lending policies, processes and procedures Identify and develop new business growth leads Develop the lending strategy for Ballina Credit Union with the support of internal stakeholder Review the loan portfolio regularly to identify emerging risks, trends, or opportunities for growth Foster and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders including our Member Champion team development and provide relevant support and training where require Prepare monthly lending reports and attend meetings as require Work with fellow senior managers and engage with the Board and Committees as require Ensure strict adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements Criteria Ideally held by the Lending Manager: A relevant MCC qualification Bachelors degree in finance, Business, or a related field is desirable Minimum 5 years experience in a results-driven, lending role Minimum of 3 years of people management experience Experience working in a Credit Union or a regulated Financial Services Provider is essential Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience in personal and SME lending Excellent written and oral communication skill Ability to work on their own initiative to deliver agreed targets Other Information: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications & relevant experience.
This is a full-time role.
