Technical Account Manager at PayPal

Job Description Summary

As a Technical Account Manager, you will own the technical relationship with enterprise merchants, driving proactive engagement, safeguarding revenue and championing merchant needs. You will partner with Global Support, Customer Success, Sales, Integrations, and engineering teams to advocate for improvements that enhance PayPal’s products and systems.


Essential Responsibilities

* Monitor proactive technical health for enterprise merchants.
* Identify and suggest solutions to improve customer experience.
* Consult with merchants and internal teams on integration best practices.
* Initiate strong relationships to help merchants succeed.
* Diagnose and identify issues with APIs, code, services and network latency.
* Advocate on merchants’ behalf to improve products, systems and processes.
* Serve as the main point of contact for technical issues affecting enterprise merchants.


Expected Qualifications

* 3+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Curious problem‑solver with strong root‑cause analysis skills.
* Customer champion with empathy and advocacy mindset.
* Technically minded with proven ability to adopt new technologies and tools.
* Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking with senior technical and business stakeholders.
* Knowledge of web technologies (JavaScript, REST API, SQL, GraphQL) and willingness to learn new languages and services.
* Self‑motivated, organized and able to work independently while collaborating with teams.
* Experience with on‑call duties and after‑hours escalations, while maintaining work‑life balance.
* Relevant customer‑facing technical experience, a strong degree is a plus.
