Job Title:Mechanical Maintenance FitterShift Pattern:4-Cycle Shift (24/7 Cover)Location:CorkDepartment:Maintenance / EngineeringReports To:Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering ManagerRole SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of equipment across a pharmaceutical manufacturing site. The successful candidate will carry out mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while working to GMP and site safety standards.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesMechanical MaintenanceCarry out planned and unplanned maintenance on production and utility equipment.Diagnose and repair faults quickly to reduce downtime.Assist with equipment setups, changeovers, calibrations, and validations.Ensure all maintenance work is recorded accurately and in line with GMP and ALCOA+ expectations.Compliance & DocumentationWork in accordance with SOPs, GMP requirements, and site safety rules.Complete all maintenance records (CMMS, logbooks, work orders) correctly.Support internal and external audits when required.Teamwork & CommunicationCollaborate with other maintenance disciplines, production teams, and quality departments.Take part in daily handovers and team meetings.Help train and guide less experienced technicians where required.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring issues.Participate in root cause analysis and support corrective / preventive actions.Contribute to ongoing improvement programs and skills development initiatives.Qualifications & ExperienceMechanical Trade Qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6 or equivalent).Minimum 3 years' maintenance experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated environment.Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, conveyors, HVAC systems, utilities, etc.).Experience using a CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and completing GMP maintenance documentation.Desirable SkillsExperience working in cleanrooms or aseptic environments.Understanding of EHS regulations and participation in safety improvement activities.Strong communication and fault-finding skills.Willingness to work shifts and respond to callouts as needed.
