On behalf of our client in Dublin 2, we are hiring a Research Accountant on an 11 month contract.
Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work in Finance Unit in the Corporate Operations Directorate.
They will be assigned to the Research Accountants Teams within the Finance Unit which
During the assignment, the individual will be responsible for the following key actions / activities:
* Review the financial aspects of budget reallocations and no cost extension requests.
* Review Final Financial Reports and track and request refunds when required.
* Assist the Research Accountant in the review of the periodical financial reports submitted to the company by the research grant holders
* Assist with the preparation and review of pension workings for grant schemes and at the company itself
* Preparation and administration of the financial records on company system.
Essential knowledge and experience
Formal requirements include:
* NFQ Level 9 qualification (Masters / Post Graduate Diploma) or suitable professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CPA) in a relevant field with a minimum of three years' appropriate professional experience
OR
* Minimum NFQ Level 8 Qualification (Honours Bachelor's degree / Higher Diploma) in a relevant field, with a minimum of five years' appropriate professional experience.
Desirable requirements include:
* Knowledge of national health research system, and of the Irish academic and health services environment.
* Knowledge of public sector pensions
* Experience in a research finance office would be advantageous.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
* Detailed understanding of financial management structures and accounting ideally within the public sector.
* Significant input into the development of financial manuals and instructions for both finance and non-finance staff. Experience of flowcharting and defining/enhancing processes is highly desirable.
* Preparing Financial Reports to assist in informing decision making, and practical experience of audit.
